Schofields is located 45 kilometres north-west of Sydney's Central Business District, on the rural-urban nexus, and offers the best of both worlds. Its name comes from John Schofield, who purchased and settled on the area in the 1800s. It has been quickly increasing as part of the New South Wales Government's north-west growth area, with various housing developments underway. The population of the area is estimated to be around 5,000 people, with a median age of 32.
